Two young people were killed on the 7th of Oct., 2019 when their motorcycle collided with a Rural Community Transportation shuttle bus in Vermont. According to the state police, the accident occurred in the afternoon on Shattuck Hill Road.
The motorcycle was being operated by a 23-year old man from Newport City, Ronald Kennedy, while his passenger was 20-year old Kyra Birchard from Derby. Kennedy was killed at the scene of the accident, while Birchard was transported by an ambulance crew to North County Hospital where she was pronounced dead in the ER.

State police officials reported that the shuttle bus had turned left onto Shattuck Hill when the motorcycle struck the bus on the driver’s side. This area is a 35 mph zone, and speeding may have contributed to the crash. Road conditions in the area were good.
